Christmas Club Update

Firstly the committee hopes everyone is still keeping well and will have a happy Christmas and New Year in this very strange year for all of us.

We continue at Stage E in the Return to Rugby Roadmap at this time but in these ever changing times that could change again.  Once the RFU have reviewed all the latest Government regulations released at the weekend I am sure they provide all the clubs with an update ready for our return after Christmas which we will send to all once received.

We have taken the decision due to the times we are in to postpone the traditional LMRFC Memorial Game usually held between Christmas and the New Year period, to allow us to remember those past players and members of the club who are no longer with us, until later in the year.  Although we could hold the game we would be unable to socialise afterwards, allowing the opportunity for all to recount stories of old and new.  We will publicise the new date once we have a date when it will be safe to socialise fully as a club again.

On other matters we have now taken delivery of the first five advertising boards for the new fence outside the clubhouse which will bring in some needed revenue, and these will be put up as soon as we can.  Can I than Stan Matthews on all his hard work in securing these sponsorship deals during these extremely hard times for local businesses.  If anyone has or knows anyone willing to take up one of these sponsorship deals, then please pass the details to any committee member and we will ensure Stan follows up with them.

We are also currently in discussions with Sport England who have offered us a grant to help us prepare the club for full use again and making it as Covid proof as we can. This award has a string of conditions attached to it and we are clarifying some of the finer points in these before formally accepting or rejecting the offer.

Once again have a good Christmas and we will see you all in the New Year which hopefully will be a much better one than we have just been through. Stay safe
